Little Ben is still trending smaller than Owen in both weight (just barely) and height. He did have a bout of flu recently that really diminished his appetite, so I think that definitely hampered his weight gain. He started feeling bad Christmas Day and on the 26th it was obvious that he was a sick little guy. Luckily for Ben, he bounced back rather quickly. Unluckily for me, I caught the flu and it sidelined me for a solid 5 days. I rang in the New Year alone in bed shivering with fever. Yuck! Ben, here are some of your accomplishments at 6 months old:
  • You are finally giving solids a chance. So far you don't love anything in particular, but you don't seem to hate anything either.
  • You are rolling all over the place. You can roll from back to front, and front to back.
  • Your drooling has lightened up a bit but you still love to chew on teether toys and our fingers. Maybe a tooth will be coming soon?
  • Most nights you sleep all the way through the night - except during the days you had the flu.
  • You really love your jumper, just like big brother did when he was little. You tolerate the activity chair but you don't love it nearly as much as the jumper.
  • You made your first trip to Mississippi, checked on the cows the first time, celebrated your first Christmas, and also got to visit with Gi Gi, Granddaddy and Uncle Jon!

It's hard to believe that half of Ben's first year has already passed! He is such a sweet baby - he rarely gets upset unless he is hungry or needs a change of scenery. He seems to be growing and changing right in front of my eyes. I wish I could slow time down just a little bit, but at the same time, I am so excited to see him grow and watch his personality develop. What a precious gift our little Benjamin is!
